How To Unlock Bunny In The First Descendant

Like one of its clear inspirations, Warframe, The First Descendant features countless heroes that directly alter your playstyle, abilities, and equipment. And, similarly to Warframe, the path to unlock additional Descendants in The First Descendant requires a significant grind. You can handle that grind in one of two ways: Either you can spend the time in-game, playing through countless missions to satisfy various objectives and requirements, or you can pull out your credit card to purchase the game’s premium currency, Caliber, which significantly speeds up the unlock progress.

One of the first heroes you have the opportunity to unlock in-game is Bunny. She’s also one of the best characters to farm Kuiper, an in-game currency crucial to bolstering your power by upgrading modules. Whether you’re looking to spend cash for Bunny, or put in the hours to grind, Here is how to unlock her in The First Descendant!

There are two ways to unlock Bunny as your first hero. You can purchase her from the in-game store using the easiest and quickest method. Unfortunately, it’s also the one that requires you to whip out your credit card and spend a little money.

If you want to purchase Bunny without the in-game grind, then prepare to pay 300 Caliber. For context, the game doesn’t sell packs of 300 Caliber. You must buy the 520 Caliber pack for $9.99, leaving you with some currency left over.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with buying a character. But Bunny feels like a waste, as she’s one of the easiest to acquire via in-game methods. It genuinely does not take much of a grind to unlock her!

To unlock Bunny in-game without spending a dime, visit Kingston—the game’s first zone—and start the Bunny Research Quest by speaking with the lightning-quick hero at Fallen Theater Outpost. There, she’ll provide you with a side quest attached to the zone’s main questline that will inevitably unlock her research project. She requires:

  • Bunny Enhanced Cells, earned by completing the Vulgus Field Generator mission in Kingston.
  • The Bunny Stabilizer, earned by completing the Magister’s Lab mission in Kingston.
  • The Bunny Spiral Catalyst, earned completing the Vulgus Data Transmitter mission in Kingdon.

These three quests should take little time to complete, especially with a group of public players joining the fray.

Once you finish all three, the questline updates, tasking you with acquiring Basic Materials by tackling the Slumber Valley mission in Kingston.

The third and final part of the Bunny Research Quest requires you to return to Albion, where you will speak with Seneca. He’ll task you with defeating Gravewalker in your first Void Intercept Battle. You can do so on Normal, and playing with a group—even pubs—is highly recommended. A Void Intercept Battle is similar to a raid in Destiny 2, albeit with only the raid boss, a handful of mobs, multiple phases, and a strict time limit. You have ten minutes to beat the boss.

Once you complete the challenge, return to Albion and speak to Anais at the Research Institute.

You’ll have to hand over:

  • x1 Bunny Enhanced Cells
  • x1 Bunny Stabilizer
  • x1 Bunny Spiral Catalyst
  • x1 Bunny Code
  • 400,000 Gold
  • One Minute

Wrap that up and you’ll have a brand-new hero to play around with on the battlefield. Bunny’s lightning-quick, deals significant AoE damage on the fly, and may even wind up as your main!
