Five Nights at Freddy’s fans have multiple new book releases to look forward to in the coming weeks. A brand-new series of “interactive novels” kicks off on September 3 with Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Week Before. Volume 5 in the Fazbear Frights graphic novel collection also releases the same day. Perhaps the most exciting upcoming FNAF book is the box set collecting the Tales from the Pizzaplex horror-mystery novels. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Takes from the Pizzaplex Box Set Collection, the interactive novels, and the new Fazbear Frights graphic novel are available to order at Amazon. The books join an expansive lineup of novels and graphic novels co-authored by Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Interactive Novels
The first book in the new series releases September 3.
The interactive novel series technically started already, as Scholastic released a free ebook titled VIP on August 3. VIP serves as “No. 0” in the series, so you can give it a read before you decide if the new Choose Your Own Adventure-style storytelling format is for you.
Releasing on September 3 and priced at $9.74 (was $13), Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Week Before takes place before the events of the very first Five Nights at Freddy’s game. As the security guard of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, you have several nights in which to survive against Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy, and there are over 25 different endings in this book. You can even choose to read with a higher difficulty setting, for a unique experience where every turn of the page could be your last.
The next interactive novel, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Return to the Pit, will be available starting December 24 and puts you in the shoes of Oswald. After using the ball pit at Jeff’s Pizza to travel back in time to 1985, you’ve accidentally brought a sadistic animatronic menace back into the present, and you’ll need to find a way to escape its murderous clutches. This book also has 25 different endings and two difficulty settings, if you’re up for the challenge.
Return to the Pit is a retelling of the first book in the Fazbear Frights series. It will also be familiar to those who played Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit, the recently released retro-infused adventure game developed by Mega Cat Studios.
More Five Nights at Freddy’s Books
A Five Nights at Freddy’s personal library wouldn’t be complete without the original graphic novels released shortly after the game far to find the original graphic novels released shortly after the game released a decade ago.
Set 10 years after a series of horrific murders at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, the trilogy details how several friends reunite and visit the seemingly abandoned fast food joint. After they discover a way inside, they realize that things are not as they used to be and they quickly run afoul of the infamous mascots inside.
There are two box sets to choose from, both of which are available for roughly $25. The set was re-released in 2023–and this is probably the one most fans would want to read today–but the 2018 version arguably has a cooler box design and comes with a poster, too.
Multiple other Five Nights at Freddy’s books exploring the franchise’s world and characters are available, and we’ve listed those below, too.
